Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Doctor meeting with a client remotely.

Effective Date: October 27, 2026

This policy explains how Clarity Healthcare (also referred to as “Clarity,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles consumer health data under the Washington My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373). Consumer health data is personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and identifies your past, present, or future physical or mental health status.

This policy covers information that HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 do not already cover. That includes what you share through our website, by phone, by text, or by email before you become a patient. Once you become a patient, our Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices explains how we protect your health records.

The table below lists each category we collect, what it includes, and how we use it.

Where does your consumer health data come from?

We collect consumer health data from these sources:

  • You, through the Contact and Verify Insurance forms on teleclarity.org, and through phone calls, texts, and emails with our admissions team.
  • Your browser and device, through cookies and similar technologies on our website, only for the optional tools you accept.
  • Your insurance company, when we verify your benefits at your request.

Sharing and Your Rights

Which consumer health data do we share?

We share the categories of consumer health data listed above only in these ways:

  • Every category may go to the service providers that act on our behalf, only so they can do the work we ask of them.
  • Insurance information and the contact details needed to verify benefits go to your insurance company when you ask us to check your coverage.
  • Any category may be shared with a government agency or court when the law requires it.

We do not sell consumer health data. We will ask for your consent before we share it for any other purpose.

Who receives consumer health data?

These are the categories of third parties that receive consumer health data from us:

  • Service providers that host our website and forms, verify insurance, send texts and emails, and provide secure communications. They work under written agreements that limit how they use your information.
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) and an advertising platform (Google Ads), only if you accept optional cookies.
  • Your insurance company, at your request.
  • Government agencies and courts, when the law requires it.

We do not share consumer health data with any affiliates.

What are your rights under Washington law?

Washington law gives you these rights over your consumer health data:

  • Confirm and access. You can ask whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data, and get a copy of it. You can also get a list of every third party and affiliate we have shared it with, along with an email address or online way to contact each one.
  • Withdraw consent. You can withdraw the consent you gave us to collect or share your consumer health data.
  • Delete. You can ask us to delete your consumer health data. We will delete it from our records and tell our service providers and other third parties who received it to delete it too. If your data sits on a backup system, deletion may be delayed, but not longer than six months from the day we verify your request.
  • Appeal. If we turn down a request, you can appeal our decision.

You can make these requests free of charge up to two times a year. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. You do not need an account to make a request.
